Privacy Policy (GDPR)

The short version

Your journal lives in your browser. Nothing leaves your device unless you turn on sync. No analytics, no tracking, no third-party requests.

Local use (default)

All journal data is stored in your browser's localStorage on your device. It is never transmitted anywhere. No cookies are set.

Sync (optional, off by default)

If you enable sync:

Legal basis

Sync data is processed on the basis of your consent and to provide the sync feature you requested (Art. 6(1)(a) and (b) GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time by ending sync.

Analytics & third parties

There are no analytics, no tracking pixels, and no third-party requests made by the app.

Hosting

The app is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may process technical server logs and serve content via its CDN according to Vercel's privacy policy.

Data deletion

If you never enabled sync (the default), no data ever reaches the server — clearing your browser's local data removes everything there is.

If sync is active: use the delete button in the app's sync section while you are signed in. After you confirm with your passkey, your account and all synced data are removed from the server immediately. This ends the sync itself, so there is no separate sign-out step. If you also want the local copy gone, additionally clear your browser's local data.

If you can no longer sign in (for example because you lost your passkey), contact us via the imprint and include the account name shown for mybujo.cc in your password manager (it looks like mybujo-xxxxxxxx) so we can identify and delete your data.
